I had the opportunity to spend some time with the new Suzuki XL6. It’s a six-seater MPV based on the Ertiga platform. As my audience calls it, it’s an Ertiga that went to private school, as it is more stylish from the exterior to the interior than the Ertiga. It has LED headlights with LED DRLs and sits on 15-inch alloy wheels. For a six-seater, it looks good.It is offered in two models: GL and GLX.
With a 7-inch touchscreen and 4.2-inch digital display cluster, the cabin is well-designed, spacious, and comfortable for the driver and passengers. Seats and steering wheels are wrapped in leather upholstery. Standard features include keyless entry, rear air conditioning, three 12V accessory sockets, a reverse camera, and cruise control. Boot space is 209 litres with all seats up, and 692 litres when all rows are folded.

Suzuki GLX XL6
It is powered by the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine that’s found in most of their vehicles, producing 77kW/138Nm of torque, and it comes either with a manual (5-speed) or automatic (4-speed) transmission. My test vehicle was the four-speed automatic GLX model.

The suspension system handles bumps well and provides a smooth ride. Performance is good, and it has a more efficient and smooth engine. Besides its excellent visible quality, it is comfortable to ride in.The only thing I didn’t like was when the drive felt afflicted in the rain or in reef conditions. It is not thirsty, so it is a perfect daily. Suzuki claimed 6.1L/100km, but I managed 6.5–6.7L/100km. Safety features include: dual airbags, ABS with EBD, seat belt pre-tensioners, and ISOFIX child seat adjustments, among other extra safety features.

Overall, this is a stylish family MPV with good performance. In addition, it is very affordable, spacious, and has an engine that is very responsive and fast to pick up  while maintaining remarkable fuel efficiency. A perfect daily for mothers or families of six. It has comfortable seats and decent safety features. Compared to other cars in this segment, it truly offers the best value.
